  • 19 November 2008 Sue Ogborne, Senior Finance Assistant, remembers a friendly and popular former Chief Cashier.
  • 24 May 2010 Richard Gregory, CBE, DSc, FRSE, FRS, Emeritus Professor of Neuropsychology at the University of Bristol, died peacefully on 17 May 2010 after suffering a stroke. His family and close friends were with him.
  • 3 September 2010 Dr John Parry, a former Senior Lecturer in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, has died. Robert Adams, Emeritus Professor of Applied Mechanics, remembers an excellent teacher, researcher and practical engineer who also had an interest in the dramatic arts.
  • 23 November 2009 Liz Lynch remembers Max Brown, a people-loving University porter who was 'one of the most optimistic people I ever knew'.
  • 12 October 2009 Peter Lewis, a member of Site Services, passed away on Monday 28 September after a long struggle with cancer.
  • 3 November 2009 Robert (Bob) Cogan, Senior Porter in the School of Chemistry, passed away in hospital on 31 October 2009, after a short illness.
  • 22 September 2008 Dr Deborah Johnson remembers the former Director of the Student Counselling Service as 'witty, utterly honest' and with 'remarkable gifts of intuition, perception and compassion'.
  • 11 May 2009 Michael Freeman, Emeritus Professor of French at the University of Bristol, died unexpectedly on 30 April.
  • 30 June 2008 Kelvin Symonds, Head Attendant in the Arts and Social Sciences Library, died in May. Peter King, Director of Library Services, remembers 'a devoted and very proud family man... the sort of person who presents solutions to problems rather than the problems themselves'.
  • 19 May 2008 Richard Hill, who served on University Council for 36 years and was its Chairman for a decade and a half, died in April.
