- 20 April 2022 Dr David Emery, Research Fellow at Bristol Dental School, passed away on 20 March. His colleagues Shelley Allen-Birt and Nicola West offer a remembrance.
- 22 March 2013 PhD student Marcelin Fortes da Cruz, who died in February, is remembered by friends and colleagues from the Faculty of Engineering.
- 3 June 2013 John Grantham, a former porter at the Medical School from 2005 to 2012, died at the end of May. Liz Lynch, Site Services Manager, offers a tribute.

- 28 November 2013 Charles Jeffrey Spittal (known as Jeffrey), former Librarian-in-charge of the Queen’s Building Library, died in October aged 89. Jennifer Scherr offers a tribute.
- 25 June 2013 Professor Mick Aston, Emeritus Professor of Landscape Archaeology at the University of Bristol, a pioneer of landscape archaeology, a prolific author and a tireless campaigner for access to academia, died unexpectedly at his home on Sunday night aged 66.
- 8 February 2013 Hal Draper, who died in December, was a well-known actor and comedian who worked for many years as a counsellor in the University’s Disability Services.
- 15 October 2013 Dr John Wilson, retired George Wills Senior Research Fellow in Physics, died on 7 October after a short bout of intense illness, following prostate cancer with which he battled from 2001. Professors Nigel Hussey and Stephen Hayden offer this appreciation.
- 21 June 2013 Professor Martin Lowson, Emeritus Professor of Advanced Transport and former Head of Aerospace Engineering, has died aged 75. Colleagues offer an appreciation of his life and achievements.
