- 25 September 2018 The University of Bristol is joining forces with UCL and Google to launch a £5.5m Prosperity Partnership, which aims to harness the revolutionary power of quantum computers for applications in modelling and simulation.
- 25 September 2018 Parasites, including sheep mites, remain one of the most important limitations to animal health, welfare and productivity. A University of Bristol research paper about managing scab mites in UK sheep flocks has been presented with an Impact Award by the Vet Record, the official journal of the British Veterinary Association (BVA).
- 20 September 2018 Spoken word poet, writer and performer Deanna Rodger has been selected as the third recipient of the annual Kevin Elyot award by the University of Bristol’s Theatre Collection.
- 9 December 2011 KWS BioTest, a company specialising in drug efficacy trials, has won the Growth Award at the Biomedical iNet Innovation Awards.
- 4 August 2022 The University of Bristol’s Royal Fort Gardens have been awarded the coveted Green Flag Award as it is officially recognised as one of the country’s best parks.
- 13 September 2018 A project which has carried out research into breathlessness in local communities has won the ‘Inspiration Award’ at the first ever Health Humanities Medal awards.
- 9 December 2011 Three European Research Council Advanced Grants worth a total of more than €5.6 million have been awarded to Professor Jens Marklof (Maths), Professor Andrew Orr-Ewing (Chemistry) and Professor Sandu Popescu (Physics).

- 11 July 2022 University of Bristol engineer, Dr Oliver Payton, has been awarded The Princess Royal Silver Medal, one of the Royal Academy of Engineering’s most prestigious individual awards.
- 4 December 2012 David Bull, Professor of Signal Processing in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, has been elected a Fellow of the world’s largest and most prestigious professional association for the advancement of technology.
